Kay recognized the important of Norman's Bay and tried to collect important cultivars. As of 1966, she had 'Gothic'. but no others. Her notes mention that she wanted the cultivar 'Lucile' (FCC/AOS 1964) especially, although it is not certain that she ever succeeded in this quest. From Jerry Kulaja, she obtained 'Ralph Wagner' (AM/AOS 1958) May 9, 1967, and 'Low's' (AM/AOS 1959), 'Lynda' (AM/AOS 1958), and 'Hercules' (JC/AOS 1958) May 11, 1967.
