Kay Francis Photo Gallery: Cattleya amethystoglossa
There are several places in Kay's notes where she mentions that she had obtained a division of C. amethystoglossa 'Johnson's', an awarded clone, from Ben Bracey. (The award calls the cultivar 'Johnson', AM/AOS, February 11, 1963, at Hollywood monthly judging, exhibited by Ben Bracey.) Moreover, she had seedlings resulting from selfing that plant, the seedlings apparently obtained also from Bracey. Also, she obtained another cultivar of C. amethystoglossa, designated '#65', from Jerry Kulaja, June 25, 1968. Further, she obtained an alba form of C. amethystoglossa from Hans Gubler (undated).
