Kay Francis Photo Gallery: C. Georgie Asder
Parentage: C. aurantiaca ×. C. Fabianid
Current nomenclature: Cattlianthe Georgie Asder
This was one of Kay's favorite hybrids. She obtained it, apparently as a group of seedlings from the same cross, from John Asder in 1960. As shown in her slides, colors ranged from rose and red-orange to yellow, with a variety of markings on the lip. She gave five plants ("many colors of orange and yellow") to Gloria Eckles (Landamar Orchids) on May 8, 1967 (KF VII / B / 3 / d). Some of the color variation in her slides of this hybrid could be explained as an effect of digitization of under- or over-exposed images, but most of the variation is apparently real. As far as we have been able to discover, none of these plants were ever awarded or possibly even exhibited.
