Parentage: C. bicolor × C. Triumphans
Current nomenclature: Cattleya Golden Gate (1949)
There are two similarly named hybrids, Lc. Golden Gate (now Cattleya Golden Gate (1954)) and C. Golden Gate (now Cattleya Golden Gate (1949)). Kay's undated inventory shows one plant of C. bicolor × C. Triumphans, thus telling us which one she had. There is no mention of where it came from. The slide seems consistent with this parentage but not with the other parentage.
