Kay obtained this plant on April 22, 1960, apparently from Emerson "Doc" Charles, at the same time she obtained from him a division of his awarded L. flava AM/AOS and AM/ODC that he had exhibited at the Southland Orchid Societies Show in Arcadia, CA on March 17, 1960.
