The label in the image refers to the AM/AOS award to Mr. and Mrs. Fred Francis at the Southland Orchid Societies Show in Costa Mesa, CA, March 12, 1965, AOS award number 19650178, for which no award photo or slide has been found. The same plant also received AM/ODC at the same show (Orchid Digest 29(10):436 (December, 1965)). An overly-contrasty version of the ODC photo (label says, incorrectly, HCC/ODC) was published in AOS Bulletin 54(7):829 (July, 1985), included separately in this gallery.
The Register of Awards Suppl. V p. 820 gives the award details: "One spike of five orange-yellow flowers; bronze-yellow lips with maroon midlines; brilliant orange eyes and throats. Natural spread of flowers 4¼";... "
