Unidentified (196710H9red_16)

Unidentified, but very similar to the slides tentatively identified as Bc. Algernon 'White Spendor', October, 1967. However, in this photo, a label is dimly visible, apparently attached to an old growth of the same plant, which has been posed outdoors on a garden wall. The label appears to be Blc. Nanette 'Summit' AM/AOS, but that plant, awarded to Alberts & Merkel in Tampa, October 10, 1959, was supposed to have a "heavy purple midline on lip". Only a very dim black-and-white photo of an unnamed cultivar of Nanette is known to exist (in OrchidWiz, image #152809), apparently from a Jones & Scully catalogue). The present image should be compared with Kay's slides of Algernon.
