Lc. Prism Palette 'Kay Francis', film processed in November, 1979. The large, intense orange-yellow flares on the petals are characteristic of the second cultivar that Kay named after herself. The first 'Kay' cultivar was extremely similar to 'Christmas Candy', which may have replaced it. But there are many slides of the first 'Kay', hence the need to create a "first" and "second" 'Kay' gallery. A slide from the same flowering as this image, processed in January, 1980, is the first instance where this cultivar was labeled as 'Kay' or 'Kay Francis' in Kay's slides: " Blc. Prisim Pallette 'Kay Francis' ".
