Unidentified, August, 1983. Kay had the very similar Blc. Golden Key 'Yellow Star Sapphire' HCC/AOS, introduced in 1972 by Fred A. Stewart, Inc., and awarded at Long Beach in September of that year. The flowers shown here have the same unusual pattern of long yellow flares and lip configuration, but they are vastly more satisfying for shape, color, and pattern. Could this be a result of growing a small division to maturity in optimum conditions? Or a different hybrid or cultivar?
