Kay obtained a division of this cultivar on January 6, 1959, as "Lc. Areca 'Model' FCC/RHS SC/SCOS" (the latter award should be a Silver Certificate from South Coast Orchid Society — however, we found no mention in our newsletters, and the correct "Silver Certificate" seems to be the one awarded February 8, 1954 by the Orchid Society of Southern California (OSSC), the plant exhibited by Grayce Hecker at the OSSC meeting in Hollywood, CA), no source listed.
