Kay used a cultivar she called 'Blue' in at least two crosses, and she also attempted a selfing, which was unsuccessful. She wanted a cultivar known as "No. 1", and she also repeatedly tried to locate a division of Remy Chollet 'Still Pond' AM/AOS, which she understood was "quite blue". Her notes do not indicate where she obtained her cultivar, 'Blue'.
