Kay seems to have obtained Lisa Ann, possibly in the form of several seedlings (the slides labeled Lc. Lisa Ann show more color variation than would be expected from a single plant), while on a trip to Hawaii, likely at the same time she obtained her "No. 580" from Masatoshi Miyamoto's nursery, which she later registered with his permission as Blc. Great Island. The association with Hawaii is noted in her slides, and also on a slide box (inventoried as Box 77) that was originally labeled "Hawaii / Lisa Ann".
