Kay Francis Photo Gallery: Lc. Quadroon 'Red Velvet'

Kay obtained a seedling of Quadroon from Stewart's, apparently in 1956, noting that it was a "B. O. B." (=Ben O. Bracey) cross. She got back bulbs of another Quadroon from the Westenberger's in March, 1958. She clearly had the cultivar 'Red Velvet', but there is no mention in her notes about where it came from. The most likely solution would be that it was the one she got from the Westenberger's. In fact, 'Red Velvet' received AM/AOS on November 11, 1957 at Hollywood monthly judging when exhibited by the Westenberger's, so they are certainly the most likely source.
