Kay obtained this hybrid (back bulbs) from Mary Holt King, probably about 1956-1957 (KF VII / A / 2 p. 16). Mary likely had acquired the plant in the 1940's, because she grew it, as did Kay after her, under the name Bc. Corrientes × C. Venus. It was registered in 1949 by Joseph Manda of West Orange, NJ.
