Kay obtained her plant from the Westenberger's. When she purchased it on February 5, 1958, it was in bloom, with two "excellent" flowers. It produced one flower in its next season on February 25, 1959, and in the next year was awarded (AMAOS), with two flowers, on February 8, 1960 at Hollywood monthly judging (KF VII / A / 2 p. 24). On p. 34 of the same record, we learn that Kay obtained another Telegraph Hill, called 'San Fernando', that was awarded HCC/AOS when exhibited by the Westenberger's at the same judging session on February 8, 1960. She obtained back bulbs of that cultivar a few weeks later, March 2, 1960.
